  • I'm a first timer. Which class should I go for?
For clients who are beginners and have no Pilates experience, we'd recommend a private solo to get you familiarised with the Pilates method, equipments and repertoire. Alternatively, you may join the 'Align' group class to get you started on a reformer.
  • What should I wear, and do I need to bring anything?
Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows you to move freely. Grip socks are required in the studio for safety and hygiene. If you don’t have any, we have some available for purchase at $28 each. Towel is optional. You can bring along a water bottle too if you need it. Apart from that, you don’t need to bring anything specific – we provide all the equipment and props you’ll need.
  • How many people are in a class?
Our group classes are kept small, with a maximum of 5 participants, allowing for personal attention and guidance from our instructors. This ensures you get a high-quality, supportive experience every time.
  • What’s the difference between group and private sessions?
Group classes are a great way to enjoy the energy of working out with others while still receiving personal guidance. Private sessions, on the other hand, offer one-on-one instruction that’s completely customized to your goals, whether that’s rehabilitation, enhancing strength, or improving flexibility. Private sessions can also be ideal if you have specific needs or want to progress at your own pace. You can find more information on group classes here, and private sessions here.
  • I am pregnant. Which class can I go for?
You can attend our Prenatal group class or opt for a private session. More info on Prenatal Pilates here.
  • Is Pilates stretching? I want a full body workout.
Pilates is not just stretching! (although, we do have a full stretch class called Elongate, which is dedicated to stretching and releasing tense muscles). Pilates works the whole body including the core, legs, arms and back.
  • I'm new to Pilates. What should I expect in my first class at The Core Reformery?
Welcome to The Core Reformery! Our classes are designed to support you at every step of your Pilates journey. For your first class, you'll join a small group led by our dedicated instructors who provide personalized guidance. You'll start with foundational movements to help you connect with your body and understand the basics of Pilates. Our space is intimate and calming, and we focus on making sure you feel comfortable, whether it’s helping you set up the reformer or answering any questions you have. Just bring yourself, wear comfortable clothing, and don’t forget your grip socks – they're required for all classes to keep you safe and steady during your workout. Enjoy your session!
  • Do I need any experience before joining a class at The Core Reformery?
Not at all! We welcome all levels, including complete beginners. Our First-Timer offer is designed for those who are new to Pilates, offering a series of classes that introduce the foundational movements.
  • How early should I arrive for my first class?
Arriving 5-10 minutes early is ideal, especially for your first visit. This gives us a chance to introduce you to the studio, help you get settled, and answer any questions. It’s also a good time to inform the instructor of any injuries or areas you’d like to focus on.
  • I have an injury. Is Pilates still suitable for me?
Yes! Pilates is known for its therapeutic benefits and can be adapted for injuries or special conditions. Let your instructor know about your injury, and they’ll tailor exercises to your needs. If you want extra support, consider starting with a private session to work closely with an instructor on exercises tailored to your condition.
  • How can I book a class?
You can book classes directly through The Core Reformery app or on our website. Group classes can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance, while private sessions can be booked up to 4 weeks ahead. Just make sure to reserve your spot at least 2 hours before class time, as that’s when the booking window closes.
  • What happens if I’m running late?
For the safety of everyone and to maintain the flow of the class, we have a 10-minute cutoff. After this time or once the warm-up is complete (whichever is earlier), entry won’t be permitted. If you miss a session, studio members may reschedule to the next available class, but ClassPass users should reach out to ClassPass support.
  • What are the benefits of booking a private session?
Private sessions are fully customized to meet your specific needs and goals, whether you're focusing on rehabilitation, building strength, improving flexibility, or deepening your Pilates practice. With one-on-one attention from an instructor, you can progress at your own pace, receive hands-on corrections, and use equipment that may not be utilized in group classes. It’s an ideal option if you have unique goals or require modifications due to injuries or conditions. You can find more information on private sessions here.
  • How do I book a private session?
Private sessions can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance through our sign up page. Since these sessions are customized, they’re in high demand, so we recommend booking early to secure a time that works best for you. Please fill in the Private Pilates Sign Up form and we will get back to you with the slots :)
  • Can I attend a private session with a friend?
Yes, we offer semi-private sessions for up to three clients. If you’d like to attend a session with a friend or family member, just let us know through our sign up page. You will still receive personalized attention, but with the added benefit of sharing the experience together.
  • How is a private session structured?
Each session is tailored to you! Your instructor will start with a brief consultation to understand your goals, needs, or any areas requiring special attention. From there, they’ll guide you through a session using various equipment, incorporating exercises that align with your objectives. If it’s your first session, expect a gentle introduction to assess your body and comfort with different movements.
  • What should I bring to a private session?
Just wear comfortable clothing and bring your grip socks, which are required for safety. We’ll take care of all the other equipment and props. Feel free to bring any specific questions or goals you have in mind to discuss with your instructor.
  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule my private session?
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy for private sessions. If you need to reschedule, simply do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid forfeiting your session. This helps us accommodate other clients and manage instructor schedules effectively.
  • I have a specific injury or condition. Will my instructor be able to accommodate this?
Absolutely. Our instructors are experienced in working with clients who have a variety of needs, including injuries, pre- and postnatal conditions, and other special considerations. Please inform us when booking or at the start of your session, so your instructor can prepare exercises suited to your specific requirements. You’ll get a safe, supportive experience tailored to your comfort level.
  • How often should I book private sessions to see progress?
The frequency depends on your goals, schedule, and current fitness level. Attending Pilates sessions twice a week on average is ideal, but the key is maintaining consistency each week. Many clients find that one to two sessions per week provide steady, noticeable results. Your instructor can help personalize a schedule to ensure you get the most out of each session, tailored to your goals and fitness level.
